The Smith & Wollensky Prime Rib Continues to Impress

I ate at Smith & Wollensky for the first time in ages last week. I used to eat there several times a month but now that I am running all over town wolfing down pizza, burgers and ferreting out restaurant deals for Serious Eats I tend to not make it up there that often.

Not that my love for the prime rib there has waned, although when I tucked in to the slab of beef pictured above I had forgotten just how great it is - hearty, musky, intensely beefy. the exterior crisp and bronzed, the pink inner flesh buttery and tender.

I can't wait to go back.
